The RT CD Doesn't Work or Makes Noise

If the RT clip art CD does not appear or is not accessible, do this:

WINDOWS:

1. Test to make sure that your CD drive works with other CD's
2. Restart your machine WITH THE RT CD IN THE DRIVE.

MACINTOSH:

1. Test to make sure that your CD drive works with other CD's
2. Go to the APPLE menu (top left of screen), select CONTROL PANELS
3. Select EXTENSIONS MANAGER, put a check next to "Foreign File Access"
4. Restart your machine, then try using the RT CD

If the Foreign File Access extension does not appear in the list of extensions, you must reinstall the "Multimedia/CD ROM" portion of the MacOS.

Occassionally, a CD is produced which is out of balance.

This can cause noise, and/or vibration, particularly on newer, high speed CD-ROM drives.

If the information on the CD can be accessed, no action is required and no problems will result.
