U.S. Postage Stamps!

RIO RANCHO, NM, May 15, 1996 - RT Computer Graphics, Inc., creator of the acclaimed Santa Fe Collection and Plains Collection's of digital clip art celebrating Native American culture, is proud to report that it has become the first software company to have its digital clip art incorporated into an American philatelic issue. The American Indian Dances commemorative stamp series is to be issued by the United States Postal Service in June.

According to Art Bernstein, president of RT Computer, the company was notified that the colorful Native American borders in the stamps, which came from the and Plains Collections would be used on 300 million stamps. "And we thought our artwork couldn't be licked!" commented Mr. Bernstein.

The five-stamp series features three pan-Indian dances performed at pow-wows across North America-Hoop, Fancy and Traditional Dances-plus a dance unique to the Northwest Coast (the Raven Dance) and one unique to the Southwest Pueblos (the Butterfly Dance). The stamp series was designed by Carl Herrman, Art Director at the US Postal Service, incorporating original paintings by Oklahoma artist Keith Birdsong with the RT Computer borders.

"This historic event adds credibility to the entire industry." said Mr. Bernstein. "Digital art now takes it's place as a legitimate artform."

The Santa Fe Collection celebrates the rich artistic heritage, both contemporary and traditional, of the Native peoples of the Southwest, while the Plains Collection focuses on the tribal art of the Great Plains.

These RT Collections are available for $79 on 3.5" Disk or $99.95 on CD-ROM in either Windows or Macintosh formats. Besides the Santa Fe and Plains Collections, RT Computer has a Petroglyph Collection and a Wild West Collection.
