.SEA Files won't run
(Can't Install Images)
in MACINTOSH OSX

The Self-Extracting Archives (.SEA files) used on RT Clip Art CD's to install the images and/or Fonts are not compatible with some newer Macintosh Operating Systems (OSX).

Image files (PICT and EPS format) are available on all RT Clip Art CD's in the Macintosh folder. Simply drag and drop the appropriate file (PICT.COL, PICT.BW, EPS.COL or EPS.BW) on to your hard drive to install. (The PICT files are the same files as those in the .SEA files).

In order to use the fonts, they must first be extracted, then installed (dropped on to) your System Folder.

On RT Clip Art CD's which say VERSION D, TrueType Fonts (most users will use this format) are located in the Install.Mac/TT_FONTS.SEA file.

On RT Clip Art CD's which DO NOT say VERSION D, TrueType Fonts (most users will use this format) are located in the Macinstosh/Fonts.SEA file

In order to extract the fonts file, you will need a separate utility, such as Alladin's Stuffit Expander.

Your machine probably already has a copy of Stuffit Expander, installed.

If needed, you can download a free copy of Alladin's Stuffit Expander here.

Find the Expander Icon, then drag and drop the RT Clip Art Font Installer file (.SEA file) on it to extract.

Then, SELECT ONLY THE TRUETYPE FONTS (Those ending with ".suit). Hold down the SHIFT key to select multiple fonts.

Drag and drop all the selected .suit files on to your System Folder.

Type 1 Fonts (Postscript) have 2 parts - a .bmap file and a file with no suffix (such as SantaFe.bmap and SantaFe). You must drag and drop BOTH PARTS on to your System Folder in oder to use Type 1 fonts.

If you do not know whether to use TrueType or Type 1 fonts, then use TrueType fonts.
