After you have selected a file format, and downloaded an RT sample file, you MUST extract (uncompress) it to be able to use the images.
We use our own ProZip self-extracting archives (.EXE) for Windows sample clip art files.
We use CompactPro self-extracting, binhexed files (.HQX) for Macintosh sample clip art files.
On a Macintosh, you must have a utility which is able to decode binhexed files. Your web browser will likely include the a utility (such as Stuffit Expander) which will automatically decode and extract the file. If not, you will need to obtain a copy of CompactPro or Stuffit Expander, freely available on the net.
Each RT Sample file contains images from all of our clip art products, and README file(s) which require the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view. If needed, you can download a free copy of the Adobe Acrobat Reader .

1. Download an RT Sample File (rt_wmf.exe or rt_eps.exe).
(Typical Windows users should download the WMF sample file rt_wmf.exe)
When you begin to download a file, you will see a message window asking you where to save the file. Choose and remember the location. (The Desktop or My Documents folders are both good locations).
2. At your Desktop, double click My Computer
3. Go to the drive and folder where you saved the RT sample file download.
4. Double click the RT sample file.
5. An RT extract window will appear.
6. In the "Extract-to-Path" field, type in the location where you want the RT uncompressed image files to be stored.
We recommend you select "C:\" as the "Extract-to-Path".
7. Click the Extract button.
8. When finished, you will have a new folder on your drive named RTSAMPLS.WMF, or RTSAMPLS.EPS
(depending on which sample file you downloaded)
Inside the RTSAMPLS folder is a README (.PDF) file and an RTIMAGE folder (containing all the sample images).
Double click the README file(s) to view the information, a printable color visual index of all the samples, a products order form, and our Clip Art Samples License Agreement.
You are ready to begin using the RT sample images in your documents. Jump to this page for information about, and for step-by-step procedures for adding and using RT Clip Art with your particular program(s) and version(s).
1. Download an RT Sample File (rt_pict.hqx or rt_eps.hqx).
(Typical Macintosh users should download the PICT sample file rt_pict.hqx)
Make sure you know where the download gets saved. Remember the location.
2. If the file was automatically decoded and uncompressed, then you are ready to begin using the images in your documents.
3. If the RT sample file was not automatically decoded and uncompressed, use your CompactPro or Stuffit Expander utility to extract the file.
4. Once the RT sample file is uncompressed, you will have a new folder on your drive named RT SAMPLES.PICT, or RT SAMPLES.EPS
(depending on which sample file you downloaded)
Inside the RT SAMPLES folder will be a README (.PDF) file and an RTIMAGE folder (containing all the image samples).
Double click the README file(s) to view the information, a printable color visual index of all the samples, a products order form, and our Clip Art Samples License Agreement.

WINDOWS: If you are unable to run an RT sample file in Windows (the extract window does not open, or you get an insufficient memory message), then it is likely that the downloaded file is either corrupted, or incomplete.
Download the file again.
MACINTOSH: The Self-Extracting Archives (.SEA files) used to distribute RT Sample files are not compatible with some newer Macintosh Operating Systems (OSX).
In order to extract the fonts file, you will need a separate utility, such as Alladin's Stuffit Expander. Your machine probably already has a copy of Stuffit Expander, installed.
If needed, you can download a free copy of Alladin's Stuffit Expander here
Find the Expander Icon, then drag and drop the RT Sample Clip Art file (.SEA file) on it to extract.
If you are unable to locate the RT sample file once it has been downloaded:
